How to Easily Defeat a Bison (Leaper)
Leaper was formerly known as Bison and is one of ARC Raiders' larger arc raiders items
. One of their deadly attacks involves jumping and landing a crushing hit on players. They often knock them out in a single blow. In order to complete the Into the Fray challenge, players will eventually need to defeat a Leaper. Here's an easy way to destroy a Leaper so you can salvage its parts.
Where to find Leapers (Bison), or ARC Raiders in Into the Fray
Dam Battlegrounds map is the one that most players are familiar with. In ARC Raiders, two confirmed locations will always spawn a leaper. One of these locations is east of Hydroponic Dome Complex. Another is near Water Treatment Control. In a match, there's a good chance that you will find a leaper at both or one of these locations.
Take the following gear to beat a Leaper quickly in ARC Raiders. This list includes some of more commonly-available equipment. If you have higher-tier equipment available, feel free to equip it.
How to Get Leaper Pulse Units for ARC Raiders Using an Easy/Cheese-Free Method
Before you begin your assault, find a place to hide if a Bison (Leaper), is roaming the area. You can place yourself, for instance, inside the Domes if a leaper spawns close to the Hydroponic Dome Complex. Or inside the Field Depot next to the Water Treatment Elevator if a leaper spawns at that locati0n.
You should always take out any other ARC drones such as Wasps, Hornets, or Wasps first, before you start ARC Raiders.
If you've located a safe hiding spot, then use a Heavy Ammo compatible weapon like the Ferro or Anvil to shoot at the Leaper. This will bring the Leaper closer to you. However, it is unable to enter smaller spaces.
Start the battle by tossing a Blade Grenade into the Leaper’s eyes. This will start it burning. During the burning process, continue shooting at its eye. Once the Blaze Grenade is extinguished you can throw a second one and it will burn. Blaze Grenades have a high effectiveness against Leapers since fire is the main weakness of these creatures.
It is possible that the Leaper will retreat, so be alert to its EMP surge attacks and jump attacks. If you shoot enough (with Heavy Ammo), the Leaper’s eyes will eventually burn out.
You can get the Leaper Pulse Unit by looting first the Leaper Eye Part after you have taken down the Leaper. Store it in your Safe Pocket immediately so you're not worried about it being lost if anything bad happens to your Raider during extraction. You can either use the materials as crafting components or complete the Into the Fray task in ARC Raiders.
